Terms of use
Version 1 · effective 3 October 2026
terminal art club is a hobby project run by one person, Alexander Radaev, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA ("we", "us"). These terms cover the website terminalart.club and the tac Claude Code plugin. Questions about anything here: hello@terminalart.club.
The short version
- You make art on your own machine, with your own Claude. We host the pieces you choose to submit.
- You keep whatever rights you have. You let us show and share your piece. Delete it and that permission ends.
- Follow the content policy. We review pieces and can remove anything.
- It's free, there are no ads, and it comes with no warranty.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's OK to sign in and submit.
Your account
You sign in with GitHub, on the website or through the plugin's one-time browser code. Your GitHub handle is your public handle. You're responsible for what's submitted from your account. You can delete your account at any time; the privacy notice says exactly what that removes.
The plugin
The plugin runs on your machine, only inside Claude Code sessions you start, under your own Claude account. The usage it spends is between you and Anthropic, under your plan with them. We don't control it or pay for it, and on API billing it costs real money. terminal art club is not affiliated with Anthropic.
Your pieces
Who owns them. Who owns AI-assisted art is unsettled. US law currently requires a human author for copyright (Thaler v. Perlmutter, D.C. Cir. 2025), and Anthropic's consumer terms assign Claude's output to you, "if any" rights exist. We claim none of it. Whatever rights you hold, you keep.
The open licences. To the extent you hold rights in a piece you submit, you license:
- the art (the animation, its frames and images) under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0);
- the code under the MIT licence.
Anyone may reuse it under those licences, with credit. These licences can't be taken back for copies people already have, even if you later delete the piece.
What you let us do. Separately, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and render your submission, adapt it for previews and share images, and promote it on terminalart.club and on our social accounts, including Instagram (for example the weekly roundup and reels). We credit you by handle.
This licence ends when you delete the piece (unpublish it, or delete your account). Posts already published on social media may stay up; email us and we'll remove them.
What you promise. When you submit, you confirm that you have the right to share the piece, and that it doesn't copy anyone else's characters, brands or logos.
Review and removal
Every piece is checked before it goes public, as the content policy describes. We can decline or remove any piece, and close any account, at any time. Accounts that repeatedly infringe other people's rights are closed.
Takedowns
If you think a piece infringes your rights, email hello@terminalart.club with the work you own, the URL of the piece, and how to reach you. We take the piece down first and ask questions after, usually within 72 hours. We have not registered an agent with the US Copyright Office; email is how to reach us.
No warranty
The website and the plugin are provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind. They may break, change or go away. Read what the plugin does before you install it.
Liability
This is a hobby that charges nothing. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the website or the plugin. Where the law doesn't allow a limit like this, it applies only as far as the law permits.
Changes
We may change these terms. A material change gets a new version number, and we'll ask you to accept it before you sign in or submit again. Typo and wording fixes keep the same version.
Law
Michigan law governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Michigan.
