Privacy notice
Version 1 · effective 3 October 2026
terminal art club is a hobby run by Alexander Radaev, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. This page says what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it. Contact: hello@terminalart.club.
What we store
When you sign in with GitHub: your GitHub numeric id and handle. We don't ask GitHub for your email or anything else. On the website, a session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The plugin keeps its login token on your machine (~/.config/tac/credentials.json); we store only a hash of it.
If you fill in your profile: a display name, bio, link and Instagram handle, all optional. Your Instagram handle is shown publicly only after a moderator confirms it.
When you submit a piece: its code, its notes (including any direction you gave Claude), up to 4 process frames, and its title, description, model, token count and iteration count. We render it and keep the result of its review.
What's public: the animation, its code, the process frames with captions, the title and description, the model, the token and iteration counts, your handle and profile, and the view count. The rest of your notes and your review results stay private.
When you visit:
- To count each visitor once per piece per day, and to rate-limit, we store salted hashes of your IP address, never the address itself. The view-counting salt changes every day and is deleted within about two days. View hashes are deleted after about 30 days, rate-limit entries within about two; only daily view totals are kept.
- We count a few site events per day (install commands copied, pieces shared). Those counts carry nothing about you.
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the site sends no view or event counts at all.
- If you report a piece through our server, we keep a hashed IP address with the report so one person can't report it twice.
Cookies and trackers
There are no ad trackers, no third-party analytics and no analytics cookies. The only cookie is the sign-in session, set only when you sign in on the website (plus a 10-minute one while GitHub sign-in completes). Both are strictly necessary.
- Google Fonts: the site's font loads from Google, which sees your IP address and browser.
- Before October 2026: from April to October 2026 the site ran a Meta Pixel that reported page views to Meta. It has been removed.
Who else handles your data
- GitHub, for sign-in.
- Fly.io, which hosts the website, the server, the database and the files.
- Anthropic, which runs the automated review: a submitted piece's code, title, description and three frames are sent to Anthropic's API.
- Meta, when we post pieces on Instagram.
- Google, for the font.
We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
The plugin
The plugin works on your machine. Only /tac:login, /tac:submit and /tac:mine contact terminalart.club. We never see your conversations or your other files. Your chats with Claude are between you and Anthropic.
Deleting
- Unpublish a piece from
/me: it comes off the site and its public files are deleted. We keep your original upload privately until you delete your account. - Delete your account from
/me: this removes your account, your profile, every piece you submitted (with its uploads, renders and public files), their view counts and any reports about them, and all your login tokens and sessions. Deleting an account keeps the log lines that name the handle and record what happened. Moderation actions also keep a short moderator reason, such as a complaint reference, so we can answer takedown claims and enforce the repeat-infringer rule. No content is kept. - A suspended account can't sign in to delete itself: email hello@terminalart.club and we delete it.
- If we delete an account that is suspended, we keep its handle and a pseudonymous code derived from its GitHub account ID, so the same GitHub account can't sign up again; a moderator can lift this if it was a mistake.
- We can't recall copies other people made under the open licences, or ones search engines and link previews cached. Posts on our social accounts come down when you email us.
Your rights
Email hello@terminalart.club to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to ask anything. We reply within 30 days.
Children
You must be 13 or older to sign in. Under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's OK. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it.
Changes
A material change gets a new version number, and we'll ask you to accept it again.
